Meet Dr. Marina Harris

Dr. Marina Harris combines deep clinical expertise with lived experience as an elite athlete to help high-achieving women and girls thrive.

Hello!

I’m Dr. Marina Harris, licensed psychologist and CEO of Bloom Psychology Group, PLLC.

As a former Division I gymnast, I understand the pressure felt by high-achievers and perfectionists. I'm an expert in anxiety, eating disorders, and sport psychology. I help strivers worry less so they have more space to achieve their dreams.

Clients describe me as warm, well-attuned, and skilled. I love to connect with others in a meaningful way and empower people to live their best life.

As a doctoral-level psychologist, I bring an elite level of expertise and training. Psychologists are educated at the highest level (I have a PhD in clinical psychology), and undergo rigorous training programs that include therapy, assessment, research, and full-time pre-doctoral and post-doctoral experiences. This advanced level of expertise is well worth the investment. When it comes to getting the right diagnosis and the best available treatment, you (or your teen) are in capable hands.

It’s important to me that you feel heard and understood in therapy.

I also aim to give you skills and tools that help you in life. I use cognitive-behavioral therapies, which are considered the therapies of choice for anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma, and many more. I use elements of
Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. These therapies allow me to be radically genuine and work alongside you to address what is most important to you.

If you want to learn more about how I work in therapy, check out an open letter I wrote to my clients.

My “Why”

From Athlete to Advocate

As a competitive gymnast, I was no stranger to perfectionism, performance pressure, and body image struggles. I worked with a sport psychologist in high school, and that experience changed the trajectory of my life - it helped me unlock joy, presence, and freedom.

After a career-ending injury, I stayed involved in sport through coaching and eventually through clinical psychology and sport psychology. Over time, I watched teammates and friends develop eating disorders and become consumed by shame and self-criticism - I knew I wanted to help others build a different path.

Now, I specialize in supporting high-performing individuals and families - helping them replace unrealistic expectations and harsh inner dialogue with tools for calm, confidence, and clarity.

This work is personal, and it's an honor to do it.
